What is a VCI?

A VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) is the box that plugs into your car's OBD port and lets a diagnostic tool talk to its control modules. It is the bridge between the vehicle and the software doing the coding.

How a remote job works

You do not need to bring the vehicle to us. You plug your VCI into the car, connect it to a laptop with an internet connection, and we take over that connection to do the work while you stay with the vehicle.

• Park somewhere with a stable internet connection and keep the engine off unless we ask otherwise
• Put a battery support/charger on the vehicle - coding can take a while and a flat battery mid-write is the main cause of problems
• Plug the VCI into the OBD port and connect it to your laptop
• Install our RUSB software and start a session; we will confirm the time with you on WhatsApp

Which interfaces can we use remotely?

Our RUSB software shares your USB interface over the internet, so the tool stays in your hands and we drive it. It is commonly used with:

• Xhorse VVDI devices
• Abrites AVDI
• Launch X-431 interfaces
• Launch SmartLink B and SmartLink C remote units
• Autel interfaces, including the JVCI+
• VCX interfaces (VXDIAG VCX SE / VCX Nano)
• ENET cables for BMW F/G series and other Ethernet-diagnosed vehicles
• D-CAN / K+DCAN cables for older BMW E series
• Most other USB VCIs and pass-through cables

The two devices pictured below are examples only - they are the ones we see most often, not the only ones we support. If your interface is not listed above, message us before booking and we will confirm whether we can drive it remotely.
